Yes, the holes would keep the machine from floating. You need an airtight space inside the base where the exhaust would collect and tend to want to expand, which is the physics behind the floating phenomenon. The holes provide an escape for the expanding air.
Try taping over the holes from the inside where the tape won't show and see if that does the trick. Use some strong, heavy-duty tape like gaffer's tape. |

if it is a model 82 which is the first one it was not made to float. That feature did not come along until the model 84. PAT COFFEY |

I just got one to the other day, see link attached to that thread. My one would also not float, I found a few things, The motor plate was warped/ dented and the sponge that's acts as an exhaust filter was beyond clogged. I first fixed the motor plate and that improved it a bit but when some one reminded me about the sponge and I pulled it out that's when she took off CLICK HERE TO GO TO gsheen's LINK |
