David,
I recently installed a new knurled belt (301291) in my Classic III (with the new-design ball-bearing brush roll) and it works just fine for me. Just be sure the brush roll you're using has ball bearings before you use the knurled (treaded) belt. Otherwise you should order the soft gray (159056) belt. ~Ben |

Using the knurled belt is fine, but just make sure you order a ball bearing (not the old bushing style) brushroll from Goodvac.com, or Kirby Needs on eBay. |

I always use knurled belts in any Kirby since the Heritage. For some reason, both my Kirby Heritage 84 and Heritage II will burn through the flat belts very quickly. |
