Hi fellow vacuum collecters.
Can use generation style belts in classic iii? I have no smove style belts anymore unfortantly. So does using krunkled belts hurt the motor or brush rool??? Also now I'm wondering if I should pack up my classic iii in the classic iii box I got and keep it in the box for a while??? What do u guys think?

David,

I recently installed a new knurled belt (301291) in my Classic III (with the new-design ball-bearing brush roll) and it works just fine for me.

Just be sure the brush roll you're using has ball bearings before you use the knurled (treaded) belt. Otherwise you should order the soft gray (159056) belt.

Using the knurled belt is fine, but just make sure you order a ball bearing (not the old bushing style) brushroll from Goodvac.com, or Kirby Needs on eBay.

I always use knurled belts in any Kirby since the Heritage. For some reason, both my Kirby Heritage 84 and Heritage II will burn through the flat belts very quickly.

David,

Take a look at both ends of the roll.

David,

To make myself clearer in this, remove the cap from at least one end of the roll and you'll have your answer.
