The Dimension 1000 I bought on eBay last week arrived whilst I was on vacation. So upon my return home today, I had a nice little project awaiting my attention.

This. Thing. Is. FILTHY!

The machine and a thick coating of schmutz.

The attachments (These went through a "sanitize" cycle on the dishwasher after my faithful PortaPower sucked a pound of cat hair from all the bristles)

The grime blasted Quadraflex PowerMatic. (No, you do NOT want to know what the brushroll looked like OR what was under the hood)

Oddly enough, the only thing not covered in filth was the hose. I'm incredibly surprised that this is as minty as it is.

The interior of the bag compartment was coated in cat hair and a thick layer of what appeared to be concrete dust. I forgot to take a picture of the compartment, but here's the motor filter cover halfway through being cleaned.

I think this looks a little better now. I still have to take a Mr. Clean magic eraser to the machine to remove a slew of paint scuffs. Aside from those, the machine is in great condition for being 24 years old.

All together now! (The PortaPower hose seen in the bottom of the picture is attached to a machine breathing a sigh of "Oh thank GOD I don't have to suck anymore filth out of that f*&%$&g vacuum!!!")

*Update*

I brought the canister in to get its motor bearings greased and to have the fans cleaned. It no longer smells like a litter box crossed with a cement mixer and it sounds like it just rolled out of North Canton.

Looks Awesome Matt!!

Those things are awesome. One thing I recommend doing is adding a little more slack to cord at bottom of wands. Those awesome Hoover power heads had a notorious problem of the cord connection wearing down.

Great cleanup job and glad you're loving it!!!
