Nice try. And then when it all kicks off, it will be "would you believe it"?

There will be no kick off. Mr. Murray is perfectly capable of laughing at himself, and will find the above statement most amusing.

I was going to post this in my brochure thread. I still might. But it seems appropriate to post it here.

Great find! I think I have one of those in my collection... :)

One thing I noticed was that the chassis has a circle for the Hoover emblem, but I cannot think of a model that had the emblem on the right hand side, except for America of course.

Lol, Jamie has a 1977 Senior Ranger that he tends to bang on about quite a bit. It's ok though, he is the first to admit it, and it's sort of become a running joke amongst us. He'll drop his 1977 Hoover Senior Ranger into any possible conversation, the crafty devil ;)

Antony, if I'm not mistaken, that is an early Ranger - November 1975

i see

anthony's profile picture
what you mean its really a bit of a con isnt it all they have done is fit a new hood over an old hoover senior yes its got one or two other refinements but its still just a yellow senior underneath it all i suppose some bright spark at Hoover said oh lets put the Hoover emblem on the right and make it even more not like a senior

Yes, this example is dated November 1975.

And, speaking of Hoover, this year marks their 105th anniversary.

You said this one would have to wait! Identical to my old US Made Convertible apart from the hood. They are lovely machines, and it rings a bell that Jamie has one, I think he is quite fond of it, and rightly so as they are good.

finished

anthony's profile picture
ready to go back in the chassis i need to grease the height control and handle release they never seem to have any lube on them which is a shame because they work so much better with a bit of grease on them also the wheels if theres on grease on them the over time the hole in the middle just gets bigger you can also tell the difference when using a hoover thats been greased it just glides over a carpet with that droning sound no squeaks or rattles i even put a little light oil around the metal top of the switch i have changed loads of switches over the years all because they were jammed with dirt
