 On Hoover products manufactured after 1987, I believe, the first 4 digits of the serial number provide the month and year of production. With your serial number, 099600087858, as Jess stated above, your cleaner was produced in September of 1996 (0996). The rest of the numbers indicate that it is the 87,858th one off the production line. | ||
