SO, the last time I posted, I mentioned the G.E. Roll-Easy R1 that I purchased. Well, it's sitting at the post office, and I will be picking that up sometime this week. Expect a thread with more on that little beauty.

NOW, this thread. Some of you know that I'm absolutely nuts for 80s Hoover products, specifically Concept I & Concept II uprights and Dimension canisters. I was trolling around eBay tonight and spotted a filthy, yet beautiful late model Dimension 1000 canister in jet black and grey. For a SONG of a buy it now price with free shipping, I couldn't say no to it.

The following photos are the ones from the auction. I'll be sure to post tons more photos once I get the machine and start cleaning it up.

Underside of the machine. When zoomed in far enough, I was able to make out the serial number on the rating plate. This Dimension left North Canton in August of 1989.

The filthy attachments, though all of them are present!

Nice find -- congratulations! It looks to be promising under the layer of dirt! The Dimension 1000 is the best canister that Hoover ever made, in my opinion.

Thank you, Fred! I agree with you. I love the way they look and the way they clean.

The title of this thread confuses me: it suggests that you intend to quit buying vacuums, when in truth you had actually found at least one more to add.

No hard feelings... just saying.

Excellent find. This will work out well sitting next to your Dimension 900! Enjoy when you get this. Great, power vacs. John will be very happy, as it's a Hoover and I'm ecstatic since it's a Hoover and a power nozzle canister at that!!! Enjoy, I hope its in great shape.
