Hey Guys
Picked this up from Ebay for £1.04!! plus £15 postage. Note to seller starting something at 99p and having it end Saturday lunchtime maybe wasn't a great idea!

Awesome deal!  I absolutely love that bare floor tool, one of the best ever made.  Congrats!!

Indeed...

Hey Fred
Don't know about you but I always start anything I sell at the minimum I want for it allowing for fees etc. Personally I don't think starting low creates more bids or anything .... And the floor tool- I know that goes for quite a bit on its own over there. I have an EXL but much prefer the look of these and the fact you can use universal small tools without an adaptor. Guess I need to start looking for a set of the clear sparkly ones :-)
Oh and we need to catch up !

I was watching that too and stopped myself in the end as I had no use for it! Glad it went to one of us though! And at a steal of a price

You'll have to pit a video together so I can see what it's like!

I was actually thinking of bidding on that but didn't as... Well, it isn't a Hoover!!

Great deal though.

I got a similar bargain with my 99p Hoover 612.

Those eBay sellers must be miffed at the low prices, but the buyers are very happy indeed.

Is it only me that thinks...

Hey Guys
One thing I will be doing is removing the odd looking exhaust filter. I will be using modified Hepa filtration Numatic bags in it - with those plus the cloth bag and a new pre motor filter I cant see the point to be honest and I think it will look much better without it!

Exhaust filter

Is that an original accessory?? It looks a lot like a gas mask filter....

Congratulations on a 'monster bargain'!! :-)

All best

That is quite a deal!

Prepare to love it! the CXLs are a little more powerful than the EXLs in terms of airflow.

The Filter....

Hey Dave
Yes its an optional Hepa exhaust filter. I will be removing it as It will have adapted Numatic Hepa bags plus a cloth bag and pre motor filter- I think they look much better without it.

Devin it's actually a DXL according to the listing. Not sure what the differences are between the CXL and DXL?

Seamus.

Oh and the seller didn't try and backtrack on the price- should be here by the weekend :-)

My mistake

They look so alike i can't tell them apart. I couldn't tell you the difference if any though.

One difference...

I have read the DXL introduced the toothed belt and a circuit board to the power head and also has darker paintwork. I should be getting a CXL on the not too distant future so will be interesting to compare :-)

I'm surprised the seller didn't end that item early as he wouldn't make anything on it otherwise.
I never bid on obscure vacs that start at 99p as I couldn't bear knocking on someones door to collect a vac that I was only going to be paying £1.04 for.
I know sellers are obliged to sell the item at the winning bid price, but many wont, and risk bad feedback for it too.
What you say is correct, sellers should never start an obscure item from 1p, or 99p, as that is the price they may end up having to sell them for, short of using another account to shill bid with (That many sellers also do, that they shouldn't!)
