Some may have noticed my recent postings and membership here, in an attempt to educate myself and use said education to restock my vacuum needs for the recent home acquisition. I settled on a couple of Guardian uprights, floor pro, and the Guardian canister.
Being a bit unsure about the canister, I purchased a used Guardian from an Ebay seller, and as far as I have been able to discern, the last iteration before the release of the Guardian Ultra. It seemed to have the feature layout I like - especially the on board tool storage and adjustable speed/suction on the handle controls - so I bought a light use version for a very good price, and as it turns out I like it a great deal.
Thinking to myself that I wish I could still buy a brand new one, I set about looking for one, and lo and behold I found about as close as I could get. It was demoed by the Aerus rep and purchased, then stored in original packing where it sat for four years. Thinking it was as close as I was probably ever going to get to a new one, I made a deal with the owner and purchased it.
It was everything as advertised - mint condition with only evidence of a demo or two. But an interesting feature came unexpected: The machine had a green brushroll installed on the power nozzle, and has a black (instead of red) circuit breaker button. I've read some here about that green brushroll - and know well that this had to be a specially prepared option and would not have come that way from the factory. It's certainly a bit of a headscratcher, but I must say that I am very pleased with my pair of Guardian canisters, as well as all of my newly acquired Lux gear.
Great forum, BTW - this has been a great help in gaining insight as to what the various machines carry for pros and cons. A good education, to be sure.
