My First Hoover Constellation |

My Lovely wife brought a surprise home for me today.
Its a model 867A and was made in great Britain I have wanted one of these for ages, I worked on two of these many many years ago and those are the only two I have ever seen, They were older versions than this one. I am so happy with it, It even has its original floor tool but is missing the bent end at the hose end. It can also do with a new paint job to get rid of those scratches. My two sons were extremely excited to see it and wanted to see it hover but it was too clogged up when I switched it on. Motor runs sweetly though.

Looks like a good machine polish will fix that paint, can't see any rust spots from the pictures anyway! They look good with a nice car glaze and coat of wax too... | ||

Ok So i have a question, It doesnt Hover like the ones I remember. Infact it seems to be leaking air around the motor plate. I left my Hoover workshop manual at work by mistake so I cant tell if there is a rubber seal missing.
Can anyone give me any help on this. Sam Unfortunately the white has a few rust bubbles that will need fixing.

Won't float The sponge exhaust filter is most probably blocked solid after all these years. Try running the cleaner without it and seeing how you get on. | ||
