Hi Everyone! I know central vacs aren't the usual topic of conversation on this thread but in the past, there was some discussions on the matter. During that time I believe someone had inquired whether or not it was possible to do a HAH retrofit in an existing build. I'm here to say that the answer is definitely YES! I just had mine retrofitted into my one-year old home a few days ago and I must say, there was no drywall damage and I can still use all of my existing wall outlets when I need to use the electric powerheads.
The reason why I installed the HAH is because the majority of my main floor is hardwood and with a shedding dog, the tumbleweeds of hair would drive me nuts on a daily basis. The installer wasn't 100% sure HAH would work my Dirt Devil Pro Series 990 unit but it definitely works well and the turbocat is great for daily touch ups on the wool rugs. My partner was very concerned that the outlets would be obtrusive but as you can see from the photos, they don't exactly jump out at you. I highly recommend looking into it if you're looking for a great solution to daily touchups.
