Wow, very cool to find this page. I thought I was a weirdo because I have loved. Vacuums for 20 years. Nothing more exiting than taking home a new vacuum and giving it a try. I currently have a Vorwerk 131, Sebo Felix and Miele s7 salsa.

This is my opinion of them.

Vorwerk 131: love it, cleans well and vacuums the edges better than any I have ever used. I have had older Vorwerks which are all cool but the 131 was when they actually started building a high performance machine. The negative it was never sold in the United States so I have to carry a heavy 110-220 volt box around and the cord is short.

Sebo Felix: I am not sure why this vacuum does not seem to work well. It has great suction is built well and nice to use. For some reason it just does not excite me.

Miele S7: Much Too heavy and awkward and clogs up to easy. Just not a fan.

So what next? Would love to try a Lindhaus Activa or go back to A Sebo X4 as I have had one in the past.

I wish Corwerk was sold here, I like the looks of the VK140.

I think at some stage especially us who grew up before the Internet felt that way at some stage, I still remember typing in Vacuum collector into Google and finding every one else out there. It was such a good feeling.

I hope you enjoy this place and make some good friends.
Gareth

I actually sold Kirby's years ago for one week. Kirby Owners please do not take this info as an attack, it is the truth. The sale people hated when people had Panasonic, or Riccar type vacuums because they felt they were better. The owner of the Kirby store used a Riccar and when sales people took Riccar's or Panasonic on trade they would keep them.

The other trick used was to always pull dirt at the front door, this area always has some dirt to show in the dirt meter. I quit after selling 7 vacuums in one week, I no longer believe the Kirby was worth $2,000. Not to say its not a good vacuum, but the Royal while similar out cleaned the Kirby without the gadgets.

Back in the day....

Before I was aware I wasn't the only one collecting vacuums, I used to think there was something wrong with everyone else for not at least thinking vacuums was an interesting hobby to take up. Never once did I think I was strange for my likes. Though, then and now I still don't understand some of the things kids collect and play with. But I certainly got a couple teachers favor when I fixed their vacuums for them or was the volunteer to use the classroom vac.

The Terminator likes to Vacuum

Arnold Schwarzenegger was on the Tonight Show ( US Show) and he stated he liked to vacuum. He seemed to be telling the truth. I remember thinking, The Terminator is into Vaccums.

How funny you mention volunteering to run the vacuum at school, when I was in elementary school I volunteered to vacuum everything I could, I would be safe in saying I vacuumed every bit of carpeting in that school at one time or another. I got called "teacher's pet" a lot, but nobody seemed to think it strange that I wanted to run the vacuum!

I too remember how excited I was when I Googled "vacuum collector" and found this site Gareth, while my parents have always supported my hobby, I thought I was the only person in the world that collected them! Imagine my surprise (and somewhat disappointment, after all I thought I had a hobby that no one else on the planet had!) when I found out there are many of us in existence!!
