Yes, the hole is for oiling. You don't actually need to remove the motor to access it. There's a small spring-loaded "button" on the motor housing under the handle. The button is on top of that narrow brass tube you're holding in your fingers. The wick in your photo should go into that tube (not down into the commutator). Press the tip of your oil can against the button to open it and dispense some oil. Do not overdo it -- just add a few drops at a time, then run the motor a little bit, then a few more drops if it still seems sluggish or sounds dry. I hope this is clear and makes sense...! |
