Hi Jason:
I was actively selling Electrolux vacuums when the gold model L was the new model. The power nozzle we sold with it was the chrome PN-4. We had to take the power nozzle and wand out of the Super J box, and we were always supposed to have a pigtail electric hose with us. This is the first 'gold' PN-4 I've EVER seen. I'm really wondering if perhaps it has been painted by a vac shop?

The vacuum and power nozzle were definitely repainted, that is not the original gold, the Electrolux gold had more yellow in it and they never had a gold painted power nozzle, the power nozzle would have been polished.

Yes, it's a pretty thing but I agree that it was repainted with spray paint, probably by a vac shop to sell as a reconditioned unit. The original gold of the Model L was much "golder" than that.

While I agree that it does look like its been repainted. Electrolux did put out the last of the power nozzles with the super J and L with a gold cover. I have one of them and I even have an instruction book showing the PN4 with the gold cover. Our salesmen remember them as being the last couple of shipments they received. They also had the yellow hose.

ALTHOUGH IT IS A PAINTED EXAMPLE IT STILL LOOKS GREAT ANYWAY. EVERY COLLECTOR IS PROUD OF THEIR MACHINES WHEN THEY ARE FOUND. LOOKS FAB!!!!

Your quest has yielded thee a golden fleece, that even the king of Lolcus would smolder in the ashes of his envy and burning jealousy - thusly rekindled and set alight. With the zeal of Jason and his mighty Argonauts against the trickery of the false gods you won the gold-hair winged rams fleece, and now and forever more it is a tale to be told in limerick and song. If there was a ear to hear in the caravans and minstrels throngs would they banter and say, " Not bad, not bad at all, and a task no better done than he." Many congratulatories on a job well done!

Please let me know if you have a gold-painted PN-4 for my gold Model L. I would prefer to exchange covers (I have a chrome one that's in decent shape albeit not polished); however, it's not a deal breaker.
