Bosch of Germany have made slight redesigns on their current cylinder/canister vacuums. The BSGL5000 series has had a slight facelift with redesigned front panel and the addition of a new turbo brush which I really quite like the idea of. Miele and SEBO would probably follow on with their own designs as all these three German brands have similar Wessel Werk produced floor heads.

Last photo, I promise. (All taken from www.bosch-home.com/de... but view on Chrome and it should translate to English), though as you can see direct German to English reference to "she" can occur!).

I might add that the BSGL5000 series still has a 12 metre cable (almost double the amount of Miele) and retains the same 4.5 litre dust bag capacity with choice of 2000 or 2200 watt motors. There's an Eco model about to be launched as well to replace the older model and a newer bigger length upholstery tool for pet hair with double the amount of lint pickers.
