You can see a little bit from the background that this person likes black things. The wheels on the Kirby aren't black though. Would be pretty awesome with a bright red headlight.

I wonder if they used PlastiDip for the body of the machine? Ive been somewhat tempted to try it..

Well, it looks nice & they certainly did a good job. It does look cool....like Matt said above, the Darth Vader look.

But WHY would they do this to a brand new Kirby?? Why wouldn't they just buy a used Kirby Sentria with tarnished metal & paint one like that? Just seems wasteful to spend all that $$$ on a new vacuum to paint it....

Plus, the guy even painted the bag!! How is the air supposed to escape the outer bag so the vacuum can create airflow & clean? I bet they are going to have to replace the outer bag to make the vacuum useable.

@ Rob
I was going to guess the bag was dyed, not painted.

Oops my mistake! I have a 2012 Sentria but that's actually a 2008 (I think?) Sentria I got from CL. Runs perfect but cosmetically it wasn't great until I did the paint job. The bag is painted, not dyed, and the paint doesn't affect the performance at all. It still runs like a champ and it looks awesome in use! I didn't paint the wheels because that material stays tacky after its painted, even with a fixative. So I just left them. I sold this black one to a friend. I'm currently doing the same thing on a Sanitaire SC-899 I also got on CL.

BTW, if anybody hasn't heard of it, list-alert.com is a great website. It watches Craigslist and sends you an email when your item becomes available.
