So I fitted a flex to it, and it worked! I ran it for a few minutes, and it seems ok, so I'll have to test it out soon :D

If it performs ok, I will probably sell it on, but I might keep it, I guess I'll have to try it first! :P

There will be a video to follow sometime soon, along with a video of my Hoover Senior.

Let me know what you think of the DC01, and do you think I should keep it? or sell it?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi joe,
Great DC01 you have there, I notice a large piece of plastic broken off by the handle thogh!
It's great that it works aswell!
I think you should keep it:)

Thanks George!

Yes, sadly it was like that when I got it :(

I'm uploading a video to YouTube now of it running for the first time in 10 years :)

It doesn't sound the healthiest though!!

Joe

Awesome Joe!
Ps why is the switch looking abit faulty? :( and also theres a little tiny bit of plastic broken near where the cyclone meets the main body at the end of the switch housing top corner.
and Love the cable! it would go well with a Destijl tho :D

I'll make a video sometime this week :)

Thanks Tayyab, the switch is actually missing lol, it's just the switch cover left.
Oh and that bit of plastic missing is because rather than using the correct screwdriver to get the plate that covers the wires off, who ever had it last just snapped it off :(

Haha, I think I like the cable more than the original!

That Dc01's future was never bright. The cyclone, motor and head now live on my DC01 and the rest is scrap...

Someone did a terrible job of accessing the cable etc and just snapped the cover off...

Yes, the DC01 has met it's fate. May it R.I.P.

On the plus side, it's ben used to make 2 other DC01's that are now in good working order. :)

Dc01

Not sure which one is which in this thread... The one I supplied wasn't badly damaged when it left me. The original cable from that one may be about to become available again, when the machine it was fitted to gets 'pensioned off'. That's a 'red and yellow' one... Think it may also be designated a 'Dc01'....

All best

Dave T

Hi Dave,

Well, the machine you gave me if I'm honest wasn't in the best condition, and when I got the motor running it sounded pretty rough. But I really appreciate you giving it to me.

The DC01 you gave me has now been torn apart and used to make 2 other machines (one of which I own) and the other one belongs to George (Dysondestijl).

Thanks,

Joe

Re-use

It's good to see that parts have been re-used. I would have been surprised if it had worked perfectly after sitting in a garage for ten years.... ;)

I would still like to see one of these motors to investigate bearing access for lubrication.

All best

Dave T
