This is my Mother's Hoover Dial-a-Matic. It's a model U6003. She bought it at Wieboldt's in Chicago some time in the very early '70s. The switch broke. I fixed it. Now it's in my collection. Dad bought her a brand new Hoover Wind Tunnel w/ power drive model #U6485-900 for her birthday, she loves it but misses her DAM!
She took such good care of it, I didn't have to do anything else to it. It runs like new and it beats... as it sweeps... as it cleans!

That looks just like the hoover dial a matic I made a big mistake by parting with. that may just be the model number too. A teacher I had gave it to me which is why I discovered that parting with it was a big mistake. Also, @squarehandle how did you fix that switch?

It's actually

A pretty common model, I now have 2 of them, I simply replaced the switch with another one, I have beaucoup parts for DAMs and Hoover Decades, if you need anything, let me know, Thanks.
