I've had this attachment around for months but never took a closer look at it. Yesterday, I dusted it off and stuck it onto the end of a canister vac. This device indeed is turbo powered by the source vacuum. There is an inherent weakness in turbo-powered accessories in that normally, they are more easily stopped than electric powered ones. In this case, the turbine is rigged to a reduction gear set-up, which gives it a lot more torque. BUT: It also robs it of RPM. The brush turns at a boringly slow rate. So, you have vacuum suction but the brush isn't throwing particles up into the stream with any vigor. It all seems like a lot of fuss for nothing for such an attachment. It is rather bulky; where it attaches does rotate but I'm not sure how you'd use it turned upside down. Maybe.

I do not know what basic vacuum cleaners these were originally supplied with.

I have one of these also. It was left in one my dad's houses, along with a basic model purple Vision upright. I'm guessing they were just a bonus offered with some machines maybe.

My friend Mark has one similar to that one for his Dirt Devil. I tried using it on his couch once and it barely spun even before I put it on the couch. I took out the pleated and foam filters, took them outside and smacked the crap out of them to get all the built up dust out. It was a messy job of course but I figured they were in need of it. After I put it back together and turned it on, it actually lived up to it's name. It spun pretty fast with that high pitched whine. But, needless to say after I was done vacuuming the couch the brush was barely spinning again. That vacuum did clean well, but the filters clogged so quickly.
