Following a few questions about this vac in another thread, I went to snap a few pics of the Mach 9 or U88-T4-P as it is otherwise known as, but both are the same model, just mine has the pets turbo tool.
This model is sold in Currys and not much about it is known, but its a very good little vac and features something I have never seen on a Vax before, a selector dial for suction head and hose - which is similar to the old Hoover dialamatic, and saves disconnecting and re-connecting hoses to use the tools.
This vac is very small, and I show it comapered to my Mach Air Total Home, and also to an older DC04
It has a single 1200W motor driving the brushroll and suction system, and a see through brushroll housing. Its bin capatity is 1.5 litres, the same as the Mach Air and weighs 6Kg (slightly more than the Mach Air Total Home at 5.2Kg).
It pushes along very easily and has a handle mounted power switch which uses a long push rod to operate the switch which is actually on top of the motor housing. This type of switch with activator pushrod is also used on the Vax air agile. Seems that Vax are stopping mounting the on-off switches at foot level, as they usually are on the Power range of uprights. Also uses multi-cyclonic technology. The cable exits the vac low down on the motor housing but has a cable hook on the handle to save the cable getting in the way when using the vac.
Not the quietest vac in operation at about 85dB, but its tolerable for the price.
All in all a very good looking and elegant vac! I would give it 9/10 and its Currently in Currys for £99.99 and well worth it (I paid £94.99 when Currys had it for that price a few weeks back)

And the pull out hose - which aint the longest, but still very useable with the turbo tool etc

Showing the top filter - very similar design to the DC14, and the DC04, with plastic cage and foam insert, note that this is a multi-cyclonic separator:

And the Post Motor Hepa Filter:

Comparison in size of the floorheads between the Mach Air, and the Mach 9
Note that the Mach 9 has a full size brushroll compared to the micro-brushroll on the Mach air.
The brushroll cannot be switched off on the Mach 9 as it can on the Mach Air.

And shown compared to a Dyson DC04 - the Mach 9 is very much smaller!

Thanks for showing us pics of it, you are right it's a nice looking machine my local factory shop had them for £49.99 the same as yours but in orange about 6 weeks ago wish I'd picked one up now just for the few rooms with carpet we have.

The orange version of this is actually named the Mach 9 Base, the only difference being that it doesn't have a turbo tool or antibacterial H12 Hepa filter.
I don't know why my version is named the Mach Pets U88-T4-P rather than the Mach 9 Pet - they are the same machine - although it may be due to it being a special edition, but the mach pets is also sold in mail order catalogues as well as in Currys, so its not an exclusive.
So far there have not been many reviews on it and not many pictures other than the standard single view stock photo. In my opinion its a robust little vac with a good brushroll action, and its elegance is unusual for Vax who used to make big ugly vacs. Vax maybe trying to change their image, but as I said in another thread, they need to improve quality control as certain models (maybe made in other factories in China) have not been satisfactory.

Here is a Vax Mach 9 Base:
