Hi Everyone,

I received a new arrival to the ever growing family this past Friday (10/12/07). In the form of a vacuum I bid on and won from eBay. I bid on it last Monday (prior to my infamous ebay thread) and was the sole bidder and winner. It is something I have wanted since learning about vacuums here.

One thing I have enjoyed on this site was when people received packages and they opened them slowly in a pictorial for the rest of us to enjoy and keep guessing. Here is my version. if the production values are shoddy, bear w me this is my first You Tube and my first time working w/ Windows Movie maker.

I "won" an eBay prize on August 15, and have not seen it yet. If it does not show Tuesday, or I don't get good news then, I will ask the man for a refund. I can't wait to see yours.

Alan,

I would get in touch with him and request a tracking number. If he has good feedback, don't be quick to neg him. It may have been lost in transit, then you can file a claim w/the carrier. I do hope you get it, but anything won on Aug 15th should have been received way before now.

Wow, great video - I like the way you had the title-slide as a newspaper headline! I'm really an amateur at Windows Movie Maker, I use a different program to do my videos. If it was your first time, you did very well!! Great cleaner, too! It's always exciting to get a package in the mail, like Christmas!

Very well done, Electrogirl! I must twiddle with Moviemaker more and learn how to do that.

I'll clue you in either on an email, or on off-topic thread, but he's thankfully apologetic and nice, and I'm nice back. But more importantly---A VINTAGE HOOVER CONSTELLATION??? WOWEE WOW WOW!! CONGRATULATIONS!! It's a pretty color combo too!

Thanks for all the nice words! I had fun making that film. There will be a lot more to come. Some action shots, vacs in motion...I like to call them Vacuum "snuff" films.

This film would have had a killer sountrack, but iTunes is a b*** when it comes to using their stuff for anything other than the iPod.

Vintagehoover from the UK,

I love your website by the way, very comprehensive. I have also watched some of your You Tube videos. They were great. I've noticed you have a vacuum fetishist on your hands in that one fellow who keeps nagging you for more videos.

Thanks, very glad you like the site :)

Is he a fetishist? I know there's one guy on there who spends more time vacuuming himself than the carpet...to my mortification, one fellow collector found some of his videos through my videos - via the links that come up when the clip's finished - and thought it was another of MY videos! I couldn't correct him quickly enough! There also seems to be a sub-sect who enjoy videos of blocked or smothered vacuums running....

I don't really care what anyone's into, I just wish he'd grasp the rules of grammar and punctuation, and stop demanding more videos in that rather annoying way.

See his comments to go with my 925 video to see what I mean...I have posted a second response, but for some reason it's not showing up yet.

Vintagehoover, first of all, great video! Secondly, after just receiving multiple very unwanted flaming and hateful email, I hope you are exempt from any additional annoyance. I love the sound of that machine very much.

" I know there's one guy on there who spends more time vacuuming himself than the carpet...to my mortification"

One of those guys added my old you tube profile as a friend :P

Much to my older brothers amusement :P
