My grandmother passed away recently and we found this really old Columbus "made in England" vacuum cleaner in a cupboard with some of its accessories. When I plugged it in it actually worked. I dont know anything about vacuum cleaners and have no interest in collecting this stuff. I'm only looking to sell to the highest bidder. So if you are a collector, please make me an offer. I'll keep the ad up until Sunday 12 May 2013 and sell to the highest bid.
It's quite heavy and you will have to pay the cost of having it shipped or transported.
Please visit the link on gumtree for pictures of the accessories.

Yes, very heavy and sturdy. I've never heard of such a thing as a vacuum museum

The Columbus

David Watters loaned his Columbus to the Vacuum Cleaner Museum when it opened five years ago. Beautiful machine, HUGE bag. Was also designed so the motor could be removed and it would power a floor buffer. Here's a pic of the machine, in the Museum, complete as it would be set up as a vacuum cleaner.

Here's a pic of the underside of the motor unit, once it's removed from the vacuum base.

Columbus

(Looks great as does everything around and beyond it.)I have ,in a box somewhere, a 1950 Poular Science(or Mechanics)showing I think a full page with a NY sales office address for Columbus. It showed the polisher and also a tank with hose to use as a canister.I have seen ONE in this area in 30 plus years.

Back in the old days I used to know Dave Watters, but we lost touch. Hows he doing?

Good day

I was just wondering if you managed to sell this vacuum?

I have an identical one with all accessories in a bag that I would like to get rid of. Not sure what they are worth?

It depends on what you want for it. Why not post a pic on here so we can see. Their are many models that were sold in Sa I have most of them and while they all look similar they are not all the same.
