Hey everyone, a lady stopped in today while I was working at the vac shop I work at with this Hoover Convertible, Model 705. A Hoover Convertible is one of my dream machines that I had yet to find, and I guess I must of had good karma on my side today. I definitely think it was worth the $10 we gave her for the machine, and I paid the same price to take it off of my boss' hands. Now I'm on a search for a yellow bag which I think would be original... If someone could tell me what bag should be on it that would be great. I'm almost positive the bag on the machine now is a replacement. Also, if someone could tell me if the handle grip is original that would be appreciated as well. I'm thinking the machine would've had a yellow handle grip, and that's the only reason why I am wondering.

If someone could help me out with this and provide me with directions to get a genuine Hoover outer bag for this machine in the matching colour that would be great.

Thanks!

Daniel :-)

Another shot of the hood all cleaned up.

And the handle grip that I'm not sure is original. I love this machine, especially the tone of it. Nice and quiet, and the windup sounds really cool! Laughing

Nice find! It should have a small yellow perforated vinyl bag on it.

Nice Hoover!-

-with even yellow foot pedals. Not sure of handle grip as these could be added when servicing/rebuilding.Bag would have been yellow type C.To use this vac,and it should beat, sweep & clean as good as ever,I would use a newer zipper bag with type A micron paper bag.And hope to display with yellow(easily changed by sliding latch).--Happy Hoovering(when not using the also nice blue flower Twin Fan)

Thanks for the responses! I think I have found my favourite upright! I had never used a Convertible before, and I instantly loved it! Anyone have a spare bag they would be willing to sell? I really want a yellow one to make it look nice. The bag that is currently on it is okay, but I would like one with the Hoover name running down the side. This machine does use type C bags which I really like. Type C Hoover bags are one of my favourite type of bags. Also on a side note about the Kenmore Twin Fan, it rarely ever gets used anymore. It has some sentimental value and that's the only reason why I still have it. I have many uprights, 2 Eurekas, the Kenmore, my Hoover 636, and now the Convertible 705 made in Hamilton, Ontario which isn't very far from me. I think the Convertible set the standards very high for the other vac's to try and compete! Haha

Thanks for the responses! It's quite the vac!

unless canadian hoovers were different model numbers that should be a model 704, not 705 the bag wouldve matched the hood color just like it. here's a photo of mine, all original..
