Picked up a nice elite 7amp vacuum,while tearing down the motor it looks like it has a sleeve bearing at the rear,but what kind of bearing is at the fan end?. anyhow the machine runs great will be selling it soon.

The fan end has a standard 38mm ball bearing, the earlier Elite models had needle bearings on the shaft end, the later versions had a standard 38mm ball bearing. Hope this helps.

you have to pop the rivets on the bearing cover and it's the standard bearing as vacman1961 said. I am in fact doing a bearing job on one of those right now.
