Hi all,
It struck me earlier how much of a diverse bunch we actually are, with members from all over the world and all different backgrounds. I know the VCCC has the annual convention and a lot of us meet up with groups of friends, but I was thinking it would be pretty cool to arrange a mass convention –one in the UK, one in the US, one in Canada and one in mainland Europe – all on the same date. So in effect, we will all be together, just in different locations. What does everyone think? A little short notice to start planning such an event for this summer, but maybe for next year? Just playing around with ideas at the moment, of course. And if anything like this were to go ahead, we'd obviously need to all make it a massive team effort to make it extra special :). Feel free to tell me if you think it's a bloody stupid idea and never going to happen :P. Chris | ||

Its all been done before ....
Well partly. Last year an AW.org member (I think it was John/Combo52 in Maryland) had a web cam feed running through a good part of their meet so people who could not make it, could at least share in part of it. That said, whilst a great idea, it is somewhat limited unless someone is directing the camera to where the action is and as you well know Chris, the focus of attention is usually changing very frequently. And the space in that case was huge (green with envy here), again more problems with our smaller homes. And then there is the time difference ....
So, whilst I think it is a great idea, it needs a bit of structure to it rather than "just happening"..... Al | ||

I think this is an amazing idea i live in canada new brunswick and
theres NO VACUUM CLUB WHAT SO EVER NO ONE TALKS ABOUT EM would be nice to meet fellow collectors share vacuum story and most of all VACUUM FOR A DAY whit our favorite vacuum just for the hell o f it and internet conference would bring evry one together what a great idea ! lets pass the word so evry one try to make it happen | ||
