I just bought this Kenmore 116.2543083 vacuum. I would like to order bags for it, but I just ordered it and, of course, I do not have it yet. Could anyone help me find out what type of bags it takes?

It takes 5055 bags, which are now known as Type C bags. You can also use the HEPA cloth bags in it which are Type Q.

Oh okay, I thought it took type Q and I just wanted to make sure.

Sears canister

This is an early version of the all new canister of about 1983.There was a woman designer who restyled these from the more clumsy and bulky 5023 types. She also restyled DieHard batteries.Have more on this in a book in a box somewhere.Above bag info is correct. These were a good vac with nice attachments for someone not going with the more expensive DTD models. The white Sears would probably have needed at least 1 new hose.Happy Vacuuming.
