I recently have had the chance to purchase a NIB Miracle Mate Platinum, at a very nice price point. This brand is basically unheard of in my area, and I have not been able to find much info on them. Does anyone out there have any knowledge they would like to share? I know they are based on the Tri-Star design, but thats about it. Any first hand info would be greatly appreciated!

From what i remember

The Miracle mate was slightly weaker in airflow than my Tristar CXL was i thought it was strange as the Miracle mate draws more power. It's also much heavier. Overall it's a pretty good vac but i feel there are better tristar style vacs out there.

Miracle Mate

I have a Miracle Mate system and I really like it. I'm still in the process of restoring my Tri-Star, so I can't compare the two. Which power nozzle came with yours? The current system uses a Sebo head. Before that, they briefly used one called the Edgelift, and before that they used a Lindhaus head. Also, did you get the XIF UV light for it?

I'll make some observations about my experiences with my Miracle Mate:

It is heavy, but very well built.
It is fairly easy to service.
You have to use Miracle Mate bags for it. The cardboard top helps seal the bag chamber. If I remember correctly, a one year supply cost about $60.
The cord is on the short side, although it does have a cord winder.
Very powerful suction. I've used the Lindhaus power nozzle on some of my other machines, such as my Filter Queen, Airway, or Silver King. With those machines, I can set the height adjustment all the way to the floor. However, with the Miracle Mate the red light will come on if I have it set all the way down. I've noticed this when using Tri-Star power nozzle on the Miracle Mate as well. With most machines, it doesn't matter if you have the air vents open or not, but if you don't open them up with the Miracle Mate it won't push across floor.
It maintains suction well.

Thanks

For the info, I have not received the unit yet, it is on the way, but it is a 2013 model so I assume it will have the Sebo power head - although you know what they say about assumptions... It did not come with the XIF light, which I do not think I would really have used much anyway, seems like a gimmick. Where do you get your bags, filters, from? I didn't see a place to order them on the MM website. Some places say uses same as Tri Star others say not. Thanks!

Bags

Just call Miracle Mate, the phone number is on their website. Their customer service reps are very friendly and helpful. When I originally placed my order for bags, they got lost in the mail or something. In any case, they never made it to me. I called back and they immediately sent out another set, no questions asked. They also shipped my order on the day I placed it.

You will have to report on how you like the Sebo head. Reading through the archives here, not everybody likes the Lindhaus head, but I don't have any problems with it. It doesn't have any trouble filling up bags. It also is very well built, as is the Sebo head. I do have a Windsor Versamatic, which grooms and cleans very nicely. The power head on it should be very similar to the one that they sell for private labels. I imagine it will be terrific with the immense power of the Miracle Mate.

How does a Miracle Mate compare to Airstorm/Patriot?

Post# 225530 , Reply# 6   3/29/2013 at 09:15 (4,038 days old) by vacman33 ()

Actually they haven't used the Sebo in the states on the Miracle Mate in 10 years (at least), they still may put in on the machines built in Canada. The Edge lift Power head was used up until the end of 2011, then they decided to move to a better preforming power-head. So if its really the latest machine it will have the Wessel-Werk EBK360. It compares well to the Patriot, it is alot heavier then it. But if you use actual Miracle Mate bags its got a little more suction. Which is funny since Miracle Mate and Patriot use the same Motor, the enclosed bag has alot to do with it. But when it comes to the difference between the two some like one over the other, but they are both great cleaning machines. People like the lighter weight of the Patriot, but like the cord winder and power switch location better on the Miracle Mate.

If you use a tristar bag in a miracle mate you will not get a tight seal i actually took a piece of carboard and cut it out to create a gasket it seemed to work pretty well

Can the Miracle Mate bags fit a TriStar?

Will the small opening work fine on the A101 Series?

Is there micro-lined bags with small opening for the Miracle Mate instead of single ply filter bags?

Or if I buy Miracle Mate bags, should I save the cardboard top & glue it onto the TriStar paper bag?

bought one a 2013 model it does come with the Wessel werk PN . I have a 2011 model with the edge lift nozzle and I had one with the Lindhaus PN . The Edge lift was a very good PN . The Lindhaus never worked on my frieze` carpet it kept shutting off . The Sebo PN hasn't been used in years as Eric stated . I receive mine on Saturday I cant wait .

Power Nozzle

I guess I'll have to apologize. I don't exactly remember what source told me they were using Sebo, but I guess it was wrong. Sorry to lead the group astray. Anyways, does anybody know what nozzle the Patriot Air Storm is using now? I know they used to use Sebo, but have they migrated to the Wessel Werk as well. If the attached link is the factory website, it shows the replacement power head as the Wessel Werk. And what about Vortech Force, are they still using the Wessel Werk?

I just ordered bags for my Patriot and asked about their power nozzle. They said you can get one with either a wessel or sebo. They said the wessel is more popular as it does clean better but the sebo is rated heavy duty and so some people feel that it's better. I think the wessel werk would be better. Mine is a 2007 and has the sebo. Patriot now has closed bags to, tey are called the hb bags and they fit all models. As far as I know Vortech still uses the wessel werk too. I love my vortech.

The Sebo PH is used exclusively for machines sold in Canada. Miracle Mate is based Richmond, British Columbia.

I believe the discrepancy is due to Sebo being distributed by two different companies in North America. Floor Care Equipment exclusively in Canada, and Sebo America only for the US.
