Probably the worst dyson ever. I love dysons, love clutch-less DC14's, but certainly wouldn't buy another non clutched. I hated my DC14'vroom'!
But if you like it then by all means you should go for it. Dyson still sell the 14 origin on the website for £199. I would go for one of those!

what do you mean OMG

thekirbylover's profile picture
it's not the animal you think they made them up until a few months ago its not a rare thing to see one new in box, and i think the dc14 is a nice performer and a good all rounder, a nice long hose and a good set of tools its performance on carpets isn't anything special but it gets the job done, its downsides are its noise both the vacuum and the upholstery tool, and its weight

Several reasons why this thread is unnecessary:

1. It's not about a cleaner that anyone on the forum owns

2. It's not bringing anything rare, collectable or note-worthy to the attention of other members

3. It’s not asking for any opinions or information, or contributing anything to discuss

4. At Tayyab’s own admission, it is no different from the previous threads he’s already started

Just seems completely pointless - there's no discussion to be had, no information to share, nothing of any relevance or importance to anyone other than Tayyab. It's not even sharing something out of a collection, because he doesn’t own it. It's a silly post, in which Tayyab is basically saying "I want this!". It's not even a remotely interesting, rare or noteworthy vacuum. Infact, it's common as muck. Yawn.

A complete waste of webspace. Why not wait until you actually HAVE the cleaner, and then you can share pictures and share your opinion on it and have a discussion with other members about it? This thread can't possibly go anywhere, unless someone manages to scrape together some sort of conversation on it.

Once again, a case of immature, attention seeking kids using a forum like an instant messenger. This is what Skype and Facebook are for.

and Chris, we shall start talking about Dyson now then yeah?
*************************************************

What are your opinions about the DC14? I find them to be high pitched, but really good in design and i love it so much, I would like to get a new in box Animal one.

Dysondestijl:- I know, lol and you always told us how your DC14 couldn't handle everyday usage, what were the other problems it has caused?

Kind Regards everyone

on a positive note, i recently was given a dc14 animal from my next door neighbor daughter she said she was getting a new one because this one had ''broke'' it had a sock jammed in the hose lol, as you can see she gave it to me with the turbine head which was very nice of her

I always found the 14 a hell of a lot easier to use than the 07, but a little bit on the wide side. Almost like someone tried to squash the DC07 down and all the excess weight went outwards. I did think that the build quality was a lot better on the DC14, compared with the 07.

Post# 224300 , Reply# 20   3/19/2013 at 15:40 (4,053 days old) by dysondestijl (east midlands, UK)

Tayyab: the filter always clogged, the post filter cover broke loads of times, the end of the wand broke off, the clutch cover snapped, the cable broke, it became noisy, it's suction was ok but not overpowering despite it being 280air watts, the brush roll was crap- do you want any more reasons lol??

Post# 224302 , Reply# 21   3/19/2013 at 15:45 (4,053 days old) by parwaz786 ( )

Lol Dysondestijl, my DC14 allergy needs a new hose, post filter, seals, the airflow part where you take the filter off on the dc07, a dog chewed that up from the previous owners, the bloody thing has teeth marks! I wanna get all that replaced, the post filter lid is broken too, the brushbar is quite old, the clutch is good, motor is dying soon, and it still works good :)

Post# 224660 , Reply# 28   3/22/2013 at 11:33 (4,050 days old) by parwaz786 ( )

I am going to bid, I am not sure what they are worth MAX because the DC07 Clic went for over £330, and Luckily it went to TheKirbyLover who looks after the vacuums, a really good home :D

How much Shall I Bid? price doesn't matter as long as I don't get ripped off, its an Animal DC14, I wish it was purple tho, but silver is fine

PS I am hoping this DC14 has the removable airflow filter part like the DC07, some don't allow you to take it off, I plan to get the DC14 a triple filtration system :P i might stick another filter in there

All Dyson animal models I've seen are purple. I have a DC15 animal and its purple. You can't tell the color by the picture on the box. Anyway, good luck. Hope you win it. :-)

Well it is purple, but its not fully purple like thekirbylovers DC14. Also you can remove all airflow ducts on the DC14, just use a thin screwdriver to press the latch on.

Post# 224704 , Reply# 31   3/22/2013 at 17:41 (4,050 days old) by parwaz786 ( )

Joe, Thanks for the reply, the majrity of the animal Dysons are purple, and some are silver. I saw a Silver DC14 Animal at a carboot sale 2 years ago for £10

DysonDestijl: Thanks so much, lol I was talking about the DC14 new in box lol :P this is the allergy DC14, it cost me £20, with £10 delivery, so £30, I got it off Gumtree, this had a loss of suction, but in the U bend was a pen stuck there, jammed in and loads of dust + hair! the brushbar wasnt nice either. I cleaned it, I recieved it for my Birthday present :D
PS How much would you pay MAX for the DC14 Animal? (If you really wanted it) price dont matter I just dont wanna be ripped off

Post# 224776 , Reply# 32   3/23/2013 at 05:42 (4,049 days old) by dysondestijl (east midlands, UK)

If, for some reason, i really wanted a DC14 clutched, i would pay up to £300, as dysons BOL DC33 is £295 on next.co.uk.
but if you dont get it then i would go for the DC14 origin off the dyson website as its only £199, i would love one of those!

PS how did you get more new 2 or 3 vacuums that are really expensive? Wow :D I would never be allowed, your DC33 and DC35, + new DC16 Lucky! :D enjoy

OMG Thank you so much Josh! You made me smile! a few hours after the auction ended, I decided not to get a DC33 Animal, I regretted not bidding, and SUPRISINGLY it went for £190! WOW, I thought it would ave gone for at least £300 or more, I'm suprised, and I dont like the DC33 for it's plastic rubbish wand, the DC14 has my fav wand design, I like the flters better, and its style of more colours,

THANK YOU SO MUCH Josh! you are a star!
But I am gonna have to pay £309 :'( NOO!!

is £309 worth paying for a new Dyson?
and is the website genuine or some old link?

Hi, Thanks. That is nice of you to say. Yep I was bidding on it but only half heartedly as need monies to save for ones I want to get from America. I think DC14 are probably the best Dyson upright and have more durability than a DC33. I actually thought it was going to go up more that £190! It is a genuine website, bought from them recently. They only have a couple of Dysons but they also have a DC07i for £189. £300 is quite good for a DC14 because on the Dyson website when not on sale is about £299 and this one is old stock and a animal. I think you should get it!!

All the best, Josh :)

I just sold this almost new Dyson DC14 Plus for 82 pounds (or $125 US dollars) & was happy to get that. Sold it as you see in the pic plus the never used turbo tool (not shown).I bought it for half that at auction & had the switch replaced free under warranty, cleaned it up & away she went.

Post# 224946 , Reply# 48   3/24/2013 at 04:33 (4,048 days old) by dysondestijl (east midlands, UK)

The 14 origin on the dyson website has gone up to £219 now from £199!
I think that £189 is deffo worth it for a DC07i, as there is one on Amazon.co.uk that is £314 or something!
So josh do you still have the brand new DC03 and DC07 you were selling?

Post# 224953 , Reply# 49   3/24/2013 at 05:46 (4,048 days old) by parwaz786 ( )

DysonDestijl: your so right! :) and they want us to give them a vacuum in order to get it cheaper, we can just get a £3 cheapo upright or cylinder vacuum for the carboots, and boom! you knock 20% off a DC14 Origin :D I noticed that they will never sell an upright dyson for less than £170, ugh, and lol the DC33 multi floor is approx £230, and the animal one is about £100 more, Rip off! only difference is the purple cyclone and the turbo tool for over £100 LOL!

Stricklybojack: Wow, Nice DC14! and Well done on making the profit :D

Wow, what a find!!

Ah, this is similar to the Hoover Aria 1300 I had for quite a while. 4 castors on the underside, quite a heavy weight but the suction power is great, you'll get the Telios type suction tools and the best news of all - this one has a massive 5 litre dust bag with its own (or should have) take out carry tray and handle.  I kept my Aria for many years and it was a good condition one, eventually selling it locally for £70 with new suction tubes as the ones that came with them (shiny metal telescopic) had broken and included Hoover's Air Driven turbo brush head originally supplied from a Telios (the frosted green one).
