I finished restoring my Hoover model 541. I made a new bag for it, replaced the power cord with a twisted cloth cord, and acquired a dusting tools set for it.

here is the link for the video:

How did you make a bag? My 541's bag is filled with holes, and I'd like to get the vacuum looking good.

How I made the bag:

The cloth is white, thin canvas for durability. I treated it with lemon oil to make it dust proof. I then cut out all the pieces of the bag and sewed them together. For the Hoover logo, I printed out the logo on paper and put double sided tape on the back of the paper. Then I took a sharp knife and carefully cut out the letters of the logo. Then I stuck the entire paper on the bag and spray painted the logo on. The cut outs of the letters act as a stencil.

I could make a bag for you if you want. I have plenty of cloth left.

Very interesting little film clip-The hand tools work better on that Hoover than the convertibles.More airflow. And liked how the vacuum can convert to a blower like a Kirby-Would be interesting to have my Polarion light with a green "dirt-dust" finder filter when you blew out the cabinet.

You did a pretty incredible job on that bag. Congratulations on a fine restoration!
