Got this off my friend James (kirbymodel2c) today. It's a lux z65 from the 60's. it's missing the tube but it has the hose, crevice tool, 2in1 tool and floor brush. It also has the very tatty box. It works great too!

Nice one. From the look of the handgrip that one would have had the telescopic wand with it. Its one of the early model 65's if I remember correctly.

Oh - you need to find the brush head for the crevice tool and the sprayer as well. The sprayer should be fairly easy as they come up on ebay all the time.

That's another good thing- it wasn't a buy, it was a freebie!

Is this the sprayer?

Got it in a box of stuff years ago. If it is I'll dig it out and send it to you

Doug Is Correct

This is an early model indicated by the short hose handle and also the box with "Electroluc Excels", no wonder it is a bit tatty after 50 Plus years.

And Doug is right, this early model would have had the telescopic wand - the only model in the UK ever to be so equipped.

Here is a picture from the Launch of the 65

Cool. I'll make a half-arsed attempt to have a look for it later!

I was never sure why Electrolux discontinued the telescopic tubes before they'd practically even started with them. I understand the 65 with such tubes came a little before the 90, and that with the 90 Electrolux favoured a long hose wand and single long extension tube. I think the former was a better, more luxurious idea.

Oh btw Sam I'm guessing you would want me to pay for postage- and for the sprayer itself?

Don't want anything for the sprayer. If you could pay postage that would be great. I need to find it and get it packaged, can't see it costing more than a tenner, probably nearer a fiver.

I'll have a look in a minute for you

I'm not sure about England but I have come across some information from Germany that said the very last of the model 62's also had the telescopic wand as well as the dual action dusting brush. I know they had the dual action dusting brush in England for the 62 near the end of the run so they may have had the telescopic wand as well. This is the cover of the German 62 manual.

That sounds good to me

I only kept them because they may come in handy. I have two, both being thrown out of my stepdads fathers when he went into care. They gave them to me as they know about the whole vac thing! Sadly no machine to go with it!

I've got an older looking black one if anyone knows of a use for it. I don't own any machines of that era so they are pretty useless for me. Best I'll do is give the glass jar to the missus to put flowers in or something.

If you have any random turbo power bits floating around one day, let me know!

Sam

Hey Sam - whats the black one look like?

Post# 224165 , Reply# 21   3/18/2013 at 15:20 (4,050 days old) by beko1987 (Stokenchurch, United Kingdom)

Lol I've got loads of bags, and don't need any motor parts atm. Keep an eye out though.

Black one is below. I stupidly left in the loft behind 20 million boxes, despite moving it out of the way to get the red one. (Still not found a box yet)

Electrolux Z65

I LOVE this cleaner, my mum had one from new, my first recollections of it would have been at the age of 5 in 1967. I just loved everything about it, the colour, the shape, and the FBA cleaning tools, best of all was the manual with it's fab pictures of how much the vacuum could do, and how elegant it looked in the line drawings and photo's. Mum used hers right up until Vax came out with the orange drum wet/dry vacuum and past her Electrolux on to me...that got left behind in a move many years ago but since then I've replaced it, still need the fuzzy radiator brush and paint spry to complete it though, and my floor cleaning head really needs replacing as a bit cracked off the other day ! :-( But it could be glued I guess, but if there is anyone out there with parts for sale please contact me on johnnn0clarke@gmail.com
Heres a picture of my beloved and still used for all housework Electrolux Z65, one of the best, and still going cleaners ever.
