i found this pic on eBay, and I need confirmation as to what the vacuum is. I want to say its a Kirby maybe a model R, I say that because the headlight cover looks a lot like that. any thoughts????

The seller says this was taken in Newberry MI in the 1930's

That's 1930? I wasn't even born till 1950, but it's exactly the kind of store I love. Those are some wonderful washing machines, but the print is way too small for me to read the vacuum cleaner bag. Is there any way to enlarge this and show us just the vacuum cleaner? plus the box in the left corner looks like a very old Kirby box, could you enlarge that too?

Back then life far less complicated. I was one happy kid in the 50's and early 60's, then things changed fast, and not for the better! Even the vacuum cleaners got a makeover, went to plastic, and the really great stuff like this went out of style.

Thanks for posting this, please share more pictures from this era.

Alex Taber.

ok.....i would agree with the given awnsers.....

but with one question......Why Does it appear to have a Model C headlight cover??? if you look closely at the bottom edge of the pic, you can see that headlight cover. so was this a model C, with a Sani-Fetz bag thrown on it?
