Evening Everyone,

I just thought i'd share a little story with you about my new addition,my second hand Dyson DC24

It arrived this afternoon, much to my excitement,so i unpacked the box,The machine was already assembled,it had been cleaned out and looks almost new, gave it a quick once over then i plugged it in,
All seemed to go well when first switched on,but i noticed that the brush wasn't spinning,i pressed the brush button in and out and still nothing,i unplugged and pressed the reset button, and tried again, switched on the machine and there was a lot of popping/crackling type noise,so quickly dropped the handle and unplugged, went back to the machine and it smelt very strongly of electrical smoke,Luckily the guarentee hadn't been registered so i sorted that, phoned the lovely people at Dyson, described the problem and they are sending me a brand new cleaner head,
So now i need to wait a few days until it arrives and try again,my guess is that i might have been dropped or thrown about during transit,as i've checked the machine over and over and it seems clean as a whistle,it just smells a bit now because of the smoke but that can be sorted

What a wonderful start i've got off too!!!! if it wasn't for my sense of humour i'd have flung it off the end of the pier!!!! lol

Neil

I just picked up my first Dyson, a blue DC14 plus ( store return) at an auction. Plugged it in, & it ran but wouldn't shut off. Called the free phone number listed right on the machine itself, badda bing Dyson customer service set up a warranty repair at a local vac shop & they are also are sending me a turbo tool adaptor piece i need, all free of charge...nice!

i'm a little bit disappointed that it's broken at the moment, but i'm fine about it as these things can't be helped,
but the poor lady i bought it from was mortified when i told her,but i've reassured her that it's been dealt with, she won't take the payment til it's working properly
