here is a new collection piece if mine. it came from unknown past life, into the hands of a collector. but is still very much alive. A great looking Hoover model 26, with its original bag!....Ive only seen two other of this model in my life, one was another collectors....and one was when i was a small child. it has such a fierce profile, and gives the feeling of a very serious piece of machinery. but is light and easy to use....one of Hoovers finest during the height of there production.

That is a VERY nice looking machine! I didn't realize they were that rare/scarce, but come to think of it, I don't see many on eBay or any of the sales websites. I have a Model 26 myself, but it's original bag disappeared LONG before I got it, along with it's original handle, and it's in sad shape. It's really nice to see one in good condition! Congratulations on your find!

Very nice looking!! I had one for a while too all original but it just wasn't my thing. I'm not crazy about the brown models but it is rare and looks very happy to be saved

I got one at an antique store in Quakertown.  All original, too.  I'll have to gt it out and photograph it w/ the others of that era.  Great photo of it w/ the light on.  Imagine it's history. Enjoy your machine!

Looks like it's in good condition and the original bag is frosting on the cake! I have one too, all original except for the bag. It was a gift from fellow collector and good friend Norm Brown when he was downsizing his collection. Thanks again, Norm! Here's a pic of mine. I've switched bags since this pic was taken, to one that looks more like the original.

Beautiful 26! I wish mine had the original bag! Yours is in gorgeous condition! Mine is in nice shape, still has the bumper on the hood...only blemish is a paint chip on the front of the nozzle. Amazing cleaner! (I am an awful photographer)

Cool 26, Miss Jae.

They were real workhorses. The second in the lineup behind the Great and Powerful Model 150. IIRC, they were made of magnesium, as was the 150. The one thing that always irritated the crap out of me was that rubber-like strip along the top, which was almost guaranteed to get sheared off by running it under furnitre and low-lying objects. I rarely have seen a 26 without a good chunk of that top strip missing. Not a good idea by Hoover.

But the machine is a glorious piece of Machine Age history. All hail to the ensemble in brown, as the ads said.

im at least lucky....

that there's as much of that trim there, that there is..lol...if you can decipher that mouth full. i do like it very much. there is only one problem with it. it needs a new ball bearing pretty bad.....if there's anyone who has another bearing, i would be more than willing to even buy it....
