My brother was watching some young person's show just now on disney channel, and someone was using a dyson dc41, but it sounded exactly like a kirby heritage! It was certianly not that dyson running, I didn't even see dirt spinning in the bin. Why would they pretend to use a dyson, and put the sound of a kirby heritage on the sound track? Very strange. Maybe someone can explain this?

The heritage sound was probably just a stock vacuum noise used so the vacuum wouldn't mess with the sound as it was being filmed.

Same kind of thing happened in an episode of Family Guy. Lois chases Brian with a hoover that sounds like a Kirby.

Lois' vacuum definitely sounds like my Kirby Tradition (and others from that era)!

Much of the audio in films and TV--including dialog--is re-recorded and overdubbed. Dolby surround sound just can't be captured on the set.
