Hey Guys:

I'm working on getting together the commercial Electrolux's that were sold in Canada. Can anyone help me with the parts for these machines?

The first two I have were made in Sweden and sold in Canada. For the model Z33 (early 1950's) I need the hose, rug nozzle and small nozzle.

The second one is the model Z73. For it I need the wands, Floor brush, Dusting Brush and crevice tool (It has a black one with it but I dont think that is original).

After that Electrolux Canada started to bring up the CB's from the US.

So far I have two and a half (I have most of the parts for the blue and chrome one as you can see - Hopefully I will be getting the vacuum itself next weekend.)

This is what I need for these:

Blue / Chrome machine - dual dusting brush, crevice tool and the instruction book

Brown / Chrome machine - Tan exhaust cover, brown hose end that attaches to the plastic handgrip and the 16" floor brush

Jadestone CB2000 - 16" Rug and Floor nozzles, clip that keeps hose from moving on machine

Hi Hans

I've seen pictures of the CA but I dont know if they ever sold them in Canada. To my knowledge the light blue CB was the first one they brought in from the States.

Hey Jimmy:

Let me know if you find the parts. I do have a grey cover for the CB (Sitting on the counter behind it) but I want to restore it back to original.

Doug

Doug,

The blower cover is textured jadestone(dark green),NEW with slight scratches and no captive nut.Found a 3 wire PN cord but not the swivel lock that should be with it.Still looking.I do have some CBs hiding behind Eureka URs in warehouse.Mostly blue but includes a stainless tank with tan bumper.---Do you know any of the White Mop Bucket Company history before Elux bought to get CB design?,Jimmy

Hey Jimmy:

Nope didnt even know that was where they got the design from. The stainles tank with the tan bumper sounds interesting. If its what I'm thinking of it would be for this machine (apparently the first two CB's you had the option of a painted tank or stainless). This is another one I am looking for. I have the hose, wands, PN and floor brush for it but not the machine. (Unfortunately the machine went in a fire)

CBs

this looks like tank.I never had tan top.I have only seen ONE painted tank.A wet pick up kit was an early option that was dropped.

found it ???

I found a swivel lock and you are welcome to it but now that I see it I seem to remember the CB2000 part being taller. This one is 4 inch overall height and has the 2 'arms' extending at top to hold molded ball on cord.It seems that there was also a 3 wire Special Model at this time with very similar set up but shorter hose.So I am wondering if there were 2 slightly different size swivel locks. It is sandstone(light tan) and looks like it would work.--CB2000 trivia-New ideas on the CB2000 were fold down cord hook,no need for second rubber part of swivel lock and 2 swivel and 2 fixed wheels(that was changed back to 4 swivel).

You wouldnt happen to have the blue (1205 style) comb dusting brush and crevice tool to complete that machine would you?

just thought of two other things that I am looking for for these. The swivel lock on the blue one is tan. Would you have a blue one around? Also I'm looking for the rug and floor nozzles for the CB2000.

Elux parts

May have blue atts but less than mint condition.Do have rug/floor but dusting is often missing and crevice in almost always lost.May have the blue sw lock for hose as it would be same as Mo L.No comm atts for CB2000 but maybe regular tank type.

Doug,

Good to talk with you.Blue CB looks great. Those 3 wire blue cords are difficult to find! But can be replaced with regular cords unlike the 3 pin later cord.(I seem to remember an adapter cord from Elux to use old cord on new vac.)Still a chance of finding blue swivel lock and then box to post office.,Jimmy

Just got a great surprise in the mail from Jimmy (rugsucker). Not only did he send me the swivel lock that we had discussed earlier in this thread for the CB2000, he also sent me a copy of the instructions for the first CB (1965). He has said I could scan and post them so here they are. Thanks again Jimmy - its very much appreciated.

page 2 - Interesting to note that the normal body is painted and you can get the stainless steel body as an option. It also has a heavy rubber hose.

CB

Wasn't sure you would have seen.Glad you like.I have only seen one painted CB(long ago in a lux service dept)and think it would have matched the G.To me the original folder(black/white with green blocks)looks like a white CB as for first L and hospital G.Also no name plate visible in pics.In any case the early ones are rarely seen, little known. The later blue/stainless was fairly common for comm buildings at one time.I have never seen rubber hose or wet pick up kit.I have heard stories that in 60s Elux and other companies were concerned with lawsuits if wet pick up vacs were misused/abused causing possible shock hazard.

Hey Philip:

I've seen one of the light blue CB's with the painted tank here many years ago and there was also the one pictured below with the stainless steel tank on ebay a while back. (They wanted way more than I could afford when shipping was factored in). The picture will give you an idea of colour though. On the one with the painted tank I saw the tank matched the motor housing (like the brown one does several frames above)

That Use and Care book is really nice, did you notice on the Power Nozzle section, they showed the bottom of the power nozzle and it had the commercial 3 row brush roll in it?

CB nd CB2000 vacuums

I just absolutely love these vacuums. Why they discontinued these machines is beyond me. Granted, they were a heavy vacuum but they were a heavy duty one at that. I still own the last version of the CB2000's, the gray version with the Prolux power nozzle. I've even wrote the company about bringing them back but seems to be falling on deaf ears. They could redesign them and improve them I feel....

Sales of them were very low - everyone seems to want the uprights lately instead of a larger machine, even though they do a better job. When I was still working for Electrolux in the mid 90's we were selling 20 or more of the prolux uprights for every CB2000 we sold.

Electrolux commercials

Among other things this weekend I organised Elux literature from 4 places into 1 file box and folders. Was able to compare information in my brain cells with printed info and now realise the 3 wire Special did not use swivel lock on hose. Also 'beater bar' brush was also available on PN 4.Found a very little on 2 wet/dry Elux after CA.(Watch for your mailman)
