I picked this beauty up last year for the sum of £1.50 ($2.36) at a recyling store and after some cleaning it came up looking very nice indeed.

I took everything apart that could be (I.E. not much) and cleaned it up thoroughly and thankfully the brush roll still had plenty life left in it (I doubt there are any spares available).

It actually works pretty good with two separate dirt compartments which can be emptied by lifting it up and pushing in both of the white pedals, which opens up the respective compartments in a trap door style.

Now I know this isn't a vacuum, but I know there are some people here who collect sweepers too, so I thought I'd chance my luck and see if anybody had any further information on this Sabco Supreme.

I looked on eBay and could only find one example like it (though in a different colour) and the listing said that one was from 1973, so I imagine mine is from a similar era but being a different colour it may be newer or older.

Without further a-do, here are some pictures.

As you can see from the picture it gives you instructions on removing the brush roll and states "MADE IN BRITAIN BY SABCO HOUSEWARE (UK) LTD".

Sabco sweeper

Nice!I can't think of a US sweeper with wheels moved in and 'edge cleaning'brushes.

Indeed the edge cleaning is useful and the bumper has patches of lined rubber on either side to make it easier to clean alongside the skirting board.

Wow that's a good brush roll for a sweeper! Does it sweep up well?

As sweepers went, the Sabco were one of the best.
