I own a Hoover Concept One model U3315-070, a self-propelled model manufactured in October 1989, which I am currently using as a daily driver. Within the last two weeks, I have noticed that, when I finish using the cleaner, the left-hand side (belt-side) of the base feels warm (not so much as to melt or warp the plastic), and there is a slight rubbery smell. I just changed both belts to see if that would correct the situation, but both conditions continue to exist. I have also made absolutely sure the nozzle height adjustment has been set.appropriately, and I am careful not to overuse the Power Surge setting. I also have tried running the motor without the belts, and it seems to run very smoothly with no strange sounds or abnormally high temperatures.

Have any other Concept One/Concept Two owners experienced this? Do I have legitimate cause for concern, or am I just making a mountain out of a molehill? Any assistance on this matter will be most appreciated.

Thank You,
Raymond
