yes, i have one that all i can figure it needs is a new power switch. i have a toggle switch but before i replace it with a makeshift part i figure i would come to the collectors and let people know i am selling this baby. i can post pictures and although it is not perfect and has no box it still seems to work fine. i know there is someone out there that would love this so please feel free to let me know and i can get pictures of it and post them for you. i live in Macon Ga so we would have to figure out how to get it to you. thanks and yes i am going to try craigslist and try to try ebay also.

Pardon, but do we understand that as your first post you want to flog a used vacuum?

As kindly as I can advise and I apologize if you were unaware, please review the conditions of membership and correct use of these Forums.

Thank you Steve for your calm and adult response.

You have shown yourself a gentleman.

The 17 'commandments' carefully decided upon by the Board of the VCCC and webmaster are for the good of all of us.

---------------------------

fairfax88 David, as a paid up member of the VCCC with access to Members Only discussions, you cannot be unaware that this is the sort of corrective measure all Forum members, paid or not, were encouraged to assist with only a few months ago by Little Fred, who has a busy enough life as it is; he cannot monitor and correct every minute of every day. Wouldn't you rather he apply his considerable skills to handling the truly egregious breaches? Which he does as soon as he is made aware...

We, the silent and not so silent majority have been asked to employ polite posts as well as the Report button to keep the site on an even keel when we can.

Liberal use of the Approval Check-mark is also encouraged and sends a positive message to all who read the Forums.

Some feel that we should just let these minor infractions slide but I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement and affirmative action to keep the Vacuumland train running smoothly.

--------------------------

Mark swiveltop, nowhere in my post is there any suggestion that Steve is being 'run off' or is not welcome. It is churlish of you to suggest otherwise.

Chill out before hitting that post button. It is called baiting, particularly in light of of Steve's reply of understanding above making this a non-issue.

Dave

David B,

Thank You! Finally some common sense!

We do not want the forum to go back to the way it was with our first website..

To Steve and members:

I think the best thing for you to do is post some pictures of your Hoover Celebrity. The Celebrity is a vacuum that came out in a few different designs and styles and used a variety of different parts. Some had a power nozzle, and even at that there was depending on when made, 3 different power nozzles that Hoover used on them. Therefore, pictures and model number gives us the most valid information for what may be the correct way of fixing your machine.

I would also look into enrolling yourself as a fully paid member. The fee is good for one year and is the equivalent of less than $3 a month. The value of wealth and knowledge in vacuums that you will receive and ability to go to spring convention along with other features and capabilities of the website are worth the value to you.

All of that stated of course, I am going with the assumption that you have a true interest in vacuum cleaners yourself and not just on this site for advice about the one machine.

Keep us posted on your endeavors with this and other vacuums.

Dave,
I am one also that would like to thank you for your friendly, informative way of policing the site. There is a true difference between rudeness and simply informing someone of either being close to or that they have crossed one of the guidelines used for trying to keep some order, and security around this site!

Fred is a great webmaster but his time is voluntary and he along with many others on here has a REAL life outside of this website. I think sometimes other members seem to forget that the board, webmaster and other positions are voluntary and Fred has other things in his life tying him up as well to include a job, partner, maintaining his own wonderful collection and all else.

That being said I think everyone should take time to let Fred and other board members aware that we care and appreciate the hard work they contribute. Thank you to members of the Board, webmaster and other administrators for your contribution and dedication!

God bless, and a terrific weekend to all!
Robert T. Shore
