I found theses bulbs at the gas station tonight,And they're the same size as the one i took out. They're 12 volt bulbs.

The question is,will theses harm my cleaner?I've heard stories before...

Twelve volts are twelve volts, I don't know how using an automotive bulb in a vacuum would hurt it. I've got a few hundred automotive bulbs (6 volt, 12 volt, 24 volt), and the last time I needed a Kirby bulb, I just went to those and found a direct replacement that worked fine. You just have to make sure that the bayonet mount is the same, and the contacts are the same. I've forgotten the automative trade number for the right bulb but there is one.

Bulb Wattage

Check the wattage of the bulb, if it is too high (more than 13) it could start to melt stuff. I bought a bunch of 12v 18w bulbs for my Hoovers by mistake but will use them in cars.

The style number of the correct bulb is Type 912, which are made by several manufacturers including GE, Phillips, and Sylvania.
