Hi there, I've run into a problem with my Kirby tradition! I fully stripped it, right down to the bare armature, cleaned it and reassembled it- but I went to run it today and the motor blew out huge flashes of blue light, and sounded like it was arcing, also it was much louder than normal!
I wondered if you could help me kirbymodel2c, you have rather a lot of knowledge on kirbys( I wonder why lol)!
It's looking very sorry for itself here!

Tradition.

Sounds like you damaged a few wires in the armiture. That can happen without even knowing it when you use the tool to loosen the fan. Aside from the arching, the noise can be from a chipped fan, bad bearings, or any combination thereof.

This is why I chose to sell Kirby's not repair them.

Also James, I don't suppose you have a spare Kirby head you'd be willing to sell do you? The one on this is seriously wrecked,
In fact I might just try and find another Kirby in better condition, as to be honest this tradition ain't really worth it in my opinion- it needs a new head, the bag is really discoloured and stained, the miracle buffer needs a new belt, so does the head, the saniemptor is wrecked too, I'll think about it.

All you need to do

is replace the carbon brushes and/or the armature.
