For as old as it is.

It's in great shape. It just needs a really good scrubbing and it kinda smells most likely from being in storage. I need to find a filter for it all I have are the bags. I was thinking maybe I would take it to the local vacuum shop and see if they can specially fit it with a hepa filter.

I'm not really sure why I bought it. I have seen it twice on Ebay and I thought why not. My next project is to find a Kenmore like the one I had years ago.

I'm happy.

I'm not sure how much I will use it but I know I'll have some fun with it. I like the hose and wands.

It's a Hoover Celebrity canister with powermatic!!!!

You just got that off of eBay. I saw that listing and was tempted but no headlight and I have too limited space. So glad it went to a decent home. I know you'll love it. Congratulations. Nice find, nice buy!!! It looks phenomenal, like new.

Cool Mint Chocolate Chip green color too. At least that's what I'm calling it. Anyone can chime in and tell me Hoovers name for it!!!

If you could, I would love a picture of the agitator area along with back of power nozzle to show how the spring is installed for the neck. I will have my Hoover Celebrity IV Elite neck delivered soon and need to install new neck and duct hose. I'm trying to get a decent photo of how the Hoover factory setup was supposed to be. Plus I love agitator photos. I will definitely post photos of mine when I get everything goin!!

Thanks Rob

Rob (Durango159)

The official Hoover color names for.that model (S3079) are Mint Green over Holly Green with Oyster White trim. So you were pretty close with Mint chocolate chip green!

Oooh...

That's a keeper! The only Celebrity series that I have with a power nozzle is my Guardsman, and it's a great cleaner. I saw that on ebay as well, but I too am out of room! Unless something real unusual pops up...LOL.

Any ideas how I can find the filter that goes in the unit? All I have are the bags.

Cutting a filter to fit from other vacuum filters, air conditioning filter, air cleaner filter, foam or other. Perhaps a filter from a Hoover Spirit may fit?? Would have to try one to see!! Best of luck!!

Simple as a store-bought pie. Take a large Hepa fibre dust bag, cut out a circle and fix it in place as originally intended.

So little dust escapes the Hoover dirt bag that there's no need to get all fancy & expensive. Same thing for Constellations - cut out a 12.5" circle and install as usual with the spring ring.

I never would have thought about that. It will be quick easy and cheap fix.
