I am restoring my Hoover 105. I removed the motor assembly and discovered the fan spins freely with no noise(the original fan is in pristine condition). However, I only turned it by hand because the last owner had installed a frayed lamp cord. I need rear wheels for the machine as it came with none. I know it would be hard to find original ones, so do any of you know where I could find some that would fit? Also, what kind of paint should I get for the base and hood? I believe the hood was dark brown and the base was silver, but the entire thing is currently painted a nasty blue. Next, what type of cord should I get to use for this vacuum? I would also like to know if any sort of device was supposed to attach to the handle bail to hold the handle in place. I know that there is an arm that can be moved underneath it, but is there something else missing? Thanks so much for any help.

You could add a cloth cord like these to make the vacuum look more authentic.

Cloth Cord

That is really neat. I will probably get around 15 feet of it. What gauge do I need?

Wheels..

Also, what diameter wheels would work for the rear wheels? I don't really have hope of getting original wheels.
