I found these on Amazon (late to the game) and just curious, does anyone know if these are made in America?

MADE IN THE USA....

The Hoover Company was purchased by TTI, also manufacturing the Royal and Dirt Devil Brands. All made in China. Some products, like the Hoover Steam Vacs, are made in Mexico.

No...

Not all made in China... The C1404 is still made here in Ohio, or at least was as the plant has been recently shut down. The 1414-900 I think may be made in Mexico. As for the C1404 I just purchased one I can guarantee that it is made in the US. I'll give you a link to the Amazon seller I purchased mine from as they are slightly cheaper, and offer free shipping just like Amazon.

@FantomLightning That's what I was thinking. I remembered reading somewhere on here about the plant recently being shut down, and I didn't have any clue that the Elite was still being made (in the US no less). Thanks for the link!

Yup!

Just remember the hard case model isn't made here. If you want to pick one up wait and watch the pricing it varies I only payed $118 for my C1404.

Awesome. The soft bag is cooler looking anyway. How are you liking the C1404 so far?

I...

Grew up with one so they've always had a special place in my heart. It's an amazing cleaner, very light weight, big bags that retain air flow and suction well, and the tools work well for a dirty air unit and an Elite tool caddy will fit on it. Compared to a Sanitaire, on my carpets it cleans better, bags last longer because they don't clog as fast, and belts last longer. At $120 it's a better deal than anything you could buy in a normal store.

Nice. I grew up with a Hoover Power Drive, idk if you're familiar with them but ugh. I would love to be able to find one of those. I always remember looking at Elites growing up though and ALWAYS wanted a brand new one. I am beyond excited to have found them on Amazon. I wasn't even aware that the C1404 had a tool port! Does it have the opening flap on the hood?

I bought my C1404 brand new in May 2008 and it was made in the USA. I bought my C1414 brand new in June 2008 and it was made in the USA. Both machines are excellent cleaners.

Just...

To let you know the C1404 that Rob has is an older model that had both no tool port or height adjustment. The newer machines like mine have the same hood as the C1414-900. And yes they do have the side tool port.

Nice guys. Say Zach, I'd love to see videos of those machines in action.
