I wanted to see if I could get Hepa filter bags to use with my Kirby Heritage 2. I went to the local vac shop (which has history of not knowing their stuff) and they gave me Universal Hepa Bags that are suppose fit both twist and style F. They don't fit near as snug around the collar as the Arm and Hammer Premium Kirby bags I had been using. This is my first time trying genuine Kirby bags.

I am worried about leaking around the collar fitting. The bags says it fit twist style G series but Did they change the collar size from Heritage to G series? Are these bags safe to use?

These bags should work just fine. Make sure they're not the "F", or "functional fit" bags though. I believe they come in a blue pack. I actually use the f style on my G3, and they work good, and the seal in the collar seals everything off so it doesn't leak. I just hook one of the tabs at the top over the bag strap hook. Im only doing this until I run out of these bags, I believe I only have one left, and then I am just going to buy the right twist fit ones.. Unless I just replace the bag adaptor at the top of the fill tube. Who knows I guess. But anyways, yes these bags should work perfect.

Well part of my problem is the bag is blue/green. It says its suppose to be universal for regular and f style. I'm kinda wondering if I should take them back for the regular blue bag.

Where do you get the Arm&Hammer Kirby bags?Would like to try them.

If you can take them back and get the proper blue bag, just to be on the safe side, that might be your best bet. Just incase you're worried about it leaking, you know you will be sure that the bag is the right one made for it, and you know it wont leak. If I had the option to return them and get the blue ones I would.

I got the Arm and Hammer bags at Walmart but I'm sure you can track them down on line in Canada.

I made the decision to upgrade the bag adapter to an actual G series bag adapter. I thought it would be a fun little project and make good use of higher grade bags.

Josef, you will be glad that you upgraded to the G Type bag adaptor, the HEPA bags will fit much better. That is what I have done to my 'fleet' of older Kirbys, from the 560 to the Legend II. I have been using the EnviroCare Technologies HEPA bags for Generation Series machines and I love them. I get mine from ebay, not too expensive, around $14 per 6-pack.
Best of luck.
Justin

Thanks Justin! It looks like a pretty straight forward upgrade. I know the Arm and Hammer bags were good but with my allergy sensitivity, all my other vacuums use high filter bags ( except my vintage convertible and Rainbow). If it turns out great then I'll upgrade my Kirby Heritage 1 that I have at work. I use those Arm and Hammer bags at work and we literally dust the pianos less than before but still the upgrade might be nice there.
