Well to top off the trouble with finding a reasonable power switch I tried to hook up the motor to 110 AC to see if it still operated.

Well obviously Kirby devilishly put in resistive devices in their power switch because the motor arcs like an arc welder! >:(

What could I do to get my Kirby running immediately without a power switch.

There has to be a way and someone has to know how.

Please share your knowledge

Thanks

If you need

a good used motor and switch for your G4, I can offer you one for 40.00, you pay to ship and clean it yourself. The armature, switch and carbons will all be good. Drop me an email if you are interested.

As for your problem, I did the same thing once, wrecked the armature and carbon brushes in the process. I never tried to mess around with running one without the switch after that :-)
