That upright is one of the last Birtman Electric designs for Sears, isn't it? Anyone know when the Singer-made, twin fan Kenmore uprights first appeared? |

If you get a chance, I'd like to see that page. Meanwhile, best of luck in your search for that 1963 Kenmore. I wish I could help you with that, but the oldest Kenmores I've ever seen in my general vicinity are the Duo-Power hardbody uprights-and quite infrequently at that. |

These are mine. The 116 on the left was a mother's day gift to my grandma, from my mother in 1947.The blue one, in the middle is from the mid 50's.I'd say 56 or 57.I know earlier ones like this are brown. The handle twists to get it into position. I think it has a replacement bag.Last is the 65 twin fan. All work great. The bumper on the oldest one is a little beat up. Other than that they've held up exceptionally well.

Mark,
Recently my friends Chad and Phillip found one like you have pictured above at an Estate sale. Chad called me and asked me if I wanted it and I said yes. Certain aspects of the Kenmore remind me of a two position convertible. The height adjustment is almost identical with the normal and high positions. Overall, I’m pleased with the vacuum it’s very cool! Thanks to Jimmy Martin for the attachments. The converter works well with both my Sunbeam and Kenmore upright. |
