Elderly neighbor is moving and has offered me their Electrolux Ultralux Classic 1521 for $100. They do not remember when they purchased it. It seems to be in good working condition. It appears to have a lot of suction at the machine but at the end of the hose it is substantially less.

Is there small cracks inside of the hose or is there some form of blockage?

Is this a good vacuum and what can you tell me about it?

Does it have a good quality motor design?

Are they easy to service and can you get parts to repair them?

Is it worth $100 in this condition?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Ultralux Classic

I have one and I love it. It is the last of the metal body Electroluxs. You can still get parts for them.I bought mine new in the late 1980's.The hose it sounds like it is breaking down inside, all of them do.I use a Genuine Electrolux hose (New Version) on mine.. It is a vinyl type of hose with the electrical wires inside. The vacuum has full power with the new hose on it. I would buy it, it is well worth $100 especially if it has all of the original attachments with it. Since belonging to an elderly couple I'll bet it does and the machine is probably is in like new condition. I have my mom's First Electrolux (model G) and she took good care of it and it is just like new.. Electroluxs are great machines.. My favorite brand of canister(or some people call them a tank)anyway good luck if you buy it I am sure you will be very happy with the machine... Dan
