A few months ago, I gave a neighbor my G6 Kirby and they are thrilled with the machine. However, this morning he came in with the neutral/drive switch, including the pin which came out of the machine yesterday. It still works but is locked in the drive mode right now. Is this something that's easy to fix, maybe just needs to be pushed back in?

Easy Fix

Hi, it's easy to have the shifter for the transmission repaired. There is a Cam on the inside that goes on the end of that pin. You'll need to take to someone who knows how to do it as the cam does have to put back on at just the right angle but it's easy enough and shouldn't cost much. I actually just fixed on this morning on an Ultimate G for a customer.

Thanks

I told him that I thought it might need to be worked on by an expert but he said he'd try it first. Since he is very mechanically inclined, perhaps he will get it working without aid. His wife wants it fixed NOW! Since they've received the vac, he has done all the vacuuming.

He did try

to do the repair himself but it's now in the shop and will be ready this afternoon. He said he was surprised at the number of screws in the body while trying to get to the inside to fix the switch.
