How do you like it? Is it an upgrade to the rest of the G series, or just a different flavor?

Personally, I like the overall look of it (just like the original Sentria?) but that color scheme and pattern just doesn't do it for me. I was a kid in the 70's and the graphics remind me of early polyester clothes that I've grown a strong distaste for.

Is it just me, or does the G series remind you of the Cylons from Battlestar Galactica?

Mostly just a color change

However I do like it. I had a Sentria and gave it to my brother and his wife. I was just so tired of the gray color schemes....I actually like this brown and blue combination very much. I wasn't much on the handle on the Sentria, but after giving it to my brother and using my other G series Kirby's, I think this handle is an improvement over the older G series machines. Handle grip is wider and for some reason in my opinion it makes stearing easier as well. The one thing I can't figure out is why they would use a gray cord and not a brown one to match the machine...The tech drive is very smooth and there seems to be less hopping if going against the grain on certain types of carpet. The machine is still pretty loud, but no more so than the other g series.

I bought the new Universal Bags that were mentioned earlier and it was very easy to install. The nice thing is I now only have to buy one type of bag, as it will fit all g series, thus the universal....

Attachments are still the same, no changes and the DVD is very much shortened. (28 minutes). Different instructions on how to adjust the toe touch control.

Notice the T shape and the notches for the older style adapter.

Bud, can you post a pic of the bag adaptor? I'd like to see what it looks like compared to the F Style.

Bag Adapter

Justin,

The bag adapter did not change. It is still the F Style. That T goes into the grooves just like the two separate tabs on the old F Style bags. You fold the T down and it slips over the posts and into the rounded grooves on the back of the posts.

The new Em-tor looks like it provides a more direct path into the fill tube -- much like a Royal.

I like it! I don't know why people dislike the bag. It's very retro. Lots of 1960's era styles are returning. I've just bought a sunburst clock. Kirby is going with the modern retro style and that aqua blue color really helps it a cooler refreshing look.

Your Welcome

I haven't tried it on my old style yet, but it was easy to install on the FStyle adapter. It will be interesting to see if these work as well as the old Fstyle bags. Also since this goes behind and not onto and then into the grooves on the F Style adapter will it stay in place without slipping out of the grooves on the back? Time will tell, hopefully Kirby did their research.....

To make the Kirby's groom and deep clean, You need a 4 row brushroll. Adjust the beater bar to position 3 on the G-Series. Adjust the beater bar screws all the way down on the Pre G-Series. Adjust the carpet height to where you hear the brush contact the carpet and adjust one more click down. The Kirby's is now at the correct carpet height for excellent deep cleaning and excellent grooming.

I have medium pile nylon plush carpeting with a pad underneath. I need all of the positive agitation that I can get.

It would wear out faster but the much improved deep cleaning and grooming is well worth it.
