$10 for genuine belts seems fine to me.

That's about the price for them over here in the UK.

Check the price on a tristar geared belt for the older series canisters. Consumer price at our shop is $20... for one. I had to get one for mine. Its crazy.

I had a hoover windtunnel for a while that had a very thin belt that was made from stiff rubber...lasted a long time but a bit spendy. my belt for my advance carpetwin 16xp a belt is 20 bucks. my sanitaire vac a dime a dozen...the big O ring style and the dirt has too go over the belt before it goes into the bag I buy generic....

$10 currently equates to £6-25. Cheaper belts range in price though £2-99 if you know where to look and for what model, which is around $4-78.

are not cheap.  I just bought one for a friend and it was over $20 from the only vac shop in town.  I about fell over when he told me the price.

All I got to say about the Royal Powercast belts....OUCH!! That's crazy!

I have to wonder if Miele & Sebo canister powerhead belts would possibly be even more expensive than $20 each though. Miele especially....their parts & supplies have always been ridiculously expensive.
