Has started to burn out after nearly 3 years use. I went to use it today and the brush was spinning slower than normal and there was a 'pop' then the reset button would keep on activating and the brushbar would keep going off so I had to keep resetting it coupled with the smell of burning in the room. This machine has been trouble free until now and has been used a fair bit. I think the brushbar motor was on its way out a while ago when it started to rattle when in use but tried a new brush and the noise wasn't so bad after.
I called Dyson and they were excellent as always and they are getting a new motor brushhead assembly sent out to me, no questions asked, the lady didn't even ask me to switch the machine on. They sent me a new brushbar and end cap 2 weeks ago because of the horrible rattling noise my DC24 was making, so I have a new brushbar and end cap along with a new brushhead on the way. That's what you call excellent service. This is one of the other reasons why I like Dyson products.
